Dragon Age Origins: Need pro help on Arcane Warrior / Blood Mage build?

Hello im asking for your opinion and well mostly help on building my arcane warrior on DAO. Ive done some initial research based on some things a arcane warrior should have and these is what i have come up with so far. I have chosen a level cap of 25 as a end result for this so bare with me. The first thing is the initial stats of my character i will post here at level 1

Human Magi

Strength: 11

Dexterity: 11

Willpower: 14

Magic: 16

Cunning: 12

Constitution: 10

Now by adding the attributes gained from the fade the stats change to

Strength: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15

Dexterity: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15

Willpower: 14 鈥?essence: 4 = 18

Magic: 16 鈥?essence: 2 = 18

Cunning: 12 鈥?essence: 5 = 17

Constitution: 10 鈥?essence: 2 = 12

now thats out of the way theres the specialization factors arcane warrior adds +1 to dexterity and Blood Mage adds +2 to constitution so that buffs up

Constitution = 14 and Dexterity = 16

so the end result is

Strength: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15

Dexterity: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15 + 1 = 16

Willpower: 14 鈥?essence: 4 = 18

Magic: 16 鈥?essence: 2 = 18

Cunning: 12 鈥?essence: 5 = 17

Constitution: 10 鈥?essence: 2 = 12 + 2 = 14

Next i stated the level cap would be 25 you get 5 attribute points in the beginning and 4 attributepoints at level 5 and 3 attribute points every level so the total amount of points would come up to 78. Now we have 78 points to spend on attributes

My initial Idea was this for stats

Strength: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15

Dexterity: 11 鈥?essence: 4 = 15 + 1 = 16

Willpower: 14 鈥?essence: 4 = 18 + 10 = 28

Magic: 16 鈥?essence: 2 = 18 + 42 points = 60

Cunning: 12 鈥?essence: 5 = 17

Constitution: 10 鈥?essence: 2 = 12 + 2 = 14 + 26 = 40

so 42 + 26 + 10 = 78 attribute points spread between 2 skills.

Next would be the Spells section this is what i have huge trouble with i have some clue but i need help the cap is 25 therefore i can have up to 27 spells by leveling to 25 not accounting tomes that will come to factor later.

at the moment im thinking

max 4 in crushing prison line = tlekenisis

max 4 in arcane warrior line

max 4 in blood mage line

max 3 in cold spells only up to cone of cold

max 2 for arcane for the arcane shield

max 1 for rock only for rock armour

max 3 for misamia line = Entropy

as you can see ive only use dup 18 spells i have 9 more to choose neeed help here lol

I know the key for a arcane warrior is the sustainables i already know the basics about that like combat magic and shimmering shield on so next we move to equipment yay my fave part =]

Helm: Helm of Honnleath

Body: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate armour

Gauntlets: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate gauntlets

Boots: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate boots

Amulet: Lifedrinker

Belt: Andruil鈥檚 Blessing

Ring: Lifegiver

Ring: Blood Ring

Weapon: Spellweaver

Shield: Fade Wall

and that would be my equipment of course they gives stat boosts which will end up like this

Helm: Helm of Honnleath +2 to all attributes

Body: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate armour for mana regen

Gauntlets: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate gauntlets mana regen

Boots: Wade鈥檚 Superior dragonbone plate boots yea again mana regen

Amulet: Lifedrinker +4 to spellpower whats not to like

Belt: Andruil鈥檚 Blessing +2 to all attributes + mana regen

Ring: Lifegiver + 10 to constitution

Ring: Blood Ring blood magic use 25% less of health and more ffective ect

Weapon: Spellweaver +5 to magic and mana regen

Shield: Fade Wall mana regen

attributes with all the amplifiers

Strength: 15

Dexterity: 16

Willpower: 28 + 4 = 32

Magic: 60 + 9 = 69

Cunning: 17

Constitution: 40 + 14 = 54

yea another part sorry this is dragging i know this is the last section ok youve seen everything now i would like your opinion on the attributelayout if youd change it like more into willpower less into it more cons less mage ect seccondly ur thoughts on my equipment and thirdly most important i need help choosing 9 extra spells thank you and before i forget my skills would be to max

coercion and combat training any thoughts on that most welcome

thank you for reading this long propably boring post i enjoyd writing it hopefully as much a su enjoy reading and helping me =]|||I would recommend getting Blizzard, you already have 3 of that line and blizzard is very useful for freeze and dammage over time.

On that note, getting three of the lightning line would also be useful as shock deals great damage and tempest can be placed right on top of blizzard for even more damage.

The full manna clash line should certaintly be taken. While the first two are useless, manna clash obliterates casters and spell might allows for the extremely powerful "storm of the centuary" spell combo (cast blizzard then tempest with spell might activated on the same spot to create a storm which deals intense dps over a huge area).

Finally, take 1 in heal. Its always useful.

Dragon age origins tank build......again?

hi

im a 2 handed lvl 19 regular grey warden.

i was wondering the best tank build for a 2 hander.

What class should i be?(champion, berserker, reaver etc)

what's th best 2h weapon?

whats the best armour?

And finally best party members to have

thanks|||Weapon: Yusaris or Ageless

*Yusaris is found in the Mages tower and Ageless is found in Orzamar

Armor: Blood Dragon Armor (DLC), Juggernaut Armor, or Legionaire Armor

*Juggernaut is found in Dalish Quest, Legionaire found in Orzamar search for the Anvil of the Void

Party: I would suggest Wynne, Leliana, and I usually use Sten, Ohgren, or Alistar for the last one, and if you don't have Wynne I would use Morrigan

Specialization: Berzerker and either Champion or Reaver|||put it all in str and cons since u swing your weapons really slow u have to have health and alot of damage rest put in willpower

be a champion and berserker so u could knock down enemies and dishing out damage= easy kills

use an axe called Faith's Guard in the urn of sacred ashes quest

as for armour get effort armor set or juggernaut armor

you need to have at least Wynne so you will be healed and and lelianas skill i forgot what it was called but it was her first bard skill it will add your stamina remeber to activate powerful swings and indomitable everytime even if your not in a fight cause of its long cool down and then another tank i usually go with leliana, allistair, and wynne but if its a boss battle i switch to morrigan, wynne, and my dog cause he has like 350 life so i hope this helped

Will I understand Mass Effect 2?

So, I've been kinda obsessed with Dragon Age: Origins lately and it came with armor pack for Mass Effect 2. So I looked into it and it got some pretty insane reviews! (Of course it did it's a Bioware game!) So, can I buy the second one without playing the first and still understand what's going on?|||It does a pretty good job of explaining the past story, but I would highly recommend that you get Mass Effect before the sequel. If you play the first Mass Effect, you can take the completed character with all of your choices and carry it forward into Mass Effect 2, and again into Mass Effect 3 as well. This will give you a much more satisfied feeling as you will be shaping the universe and seeing how your past choices have an effect on the game.|||I was able to.

Although I also stopped about four hours in because it completely bored the crap out of me.|||Pretty much. It helps to play the first, as the games have great interactive stories, but you don't NEED to.

Anybody play mass effect 2?

I dont have this game and i dont plan on getting it. I got the dragon age origins ultimate edition today and it came with a token for blood dragon armor. I dont need it soooo.... FELV-CH6U-8HH9-KZXZ. it says your supposed to enter it at the menu thing. Have fun. :)|||Appreciate that. Many thanks.|||I don't have this game , but it's really good to see people sharing things ,

It would be awesome if there were more people in this world like you .|||Nope

What should my team be on Dragon Age: Origins?

I have Morrigan, myself (Mage), Mabari War Hound, Shale, and Alistair. I need to kick one out, just not sure which. Alistair used to be the one I'd leave behind because he would always get killed, but I recently got him some much better armor. I think it would be best to have 2 mages on the team, so it's Alistair, Shale, or Mabari getting the boot. I love the Mabari (dog lover :)), and heard that he will serve as a good character later on (I like planning ahead), but is he worth keeping?|||To be honest, I have never used the Mabari much but he does get some powerful unique abilities. (Most notably Overpower which allows the Mabari to pin any human-sized target to the ground and attacking repeatedly.)

I would have to say that Alistair is a must. He just has too many funny lines of dialogue for you to leave him at the camp.

The only time it is really necessary for you to bring Shale along is when you travel to the dwarven city of Orzammar. I don't want to spoil anything but it makes the final confrontation of that area a lot more interesting.|||I always played with Morrigan and Alistair as a mage. She's great at defensive spells, and I made my mage an offensive mage. Alistair, as you upgrade his armor and strength, is a great tank character.

Also, the dialogue between Morrigan and Alistair are pretty funny. Makes the game great to play.

Edit: Also, thanks for being an *** about it.|||somthing i always did

was 2 mages 1 being healer

alistair as tank and shale

maybe sten when i get him good gear

but every one has there own game play style so fool around with it a bit

some quest choices will get comments from dif party members

also if you are using pc ver id recommend getting mod that allows you to summon dog on the side like a ranger summons spider bear and such

  • Do elves make good warriors is Dragon Age Origins?

Well my favorite race in any rpg is Elves but i want to be a warrior because i have beat it as a human warrior and dont want to be a dwarf because i think dwarves are stupid. But my question is

    1. Do elves make good warriors?

    2. Do they look good in metal armor such as plate because my characters looks matter to me in RPGs.|||1. They are fine as warriors. In the beginning elves have a small racial bonus in magic and willpower, but this becomes irrelevant after a couple of levels. Any race can easily be any class.

    2. They don't look any different than a human in heavy armor.|||What do you have against Dwarves? :(

They make better rogues, but I made a pretty good DW Elf Warrior. They look just fine in armor.|||I dont know.I just want points

Lots of questions about Rogues in Dragon Age?

I plan on wearing light armor with duel daggers. Does the Dual Weapons talent tree focus on rogues who carry heavier weapons or is it for both daggers and heavy weapons? Do I focus on strength at all since I'm going to be using light armor with daggers? For my 2 specs, do I go with Assassination and Duelist or assassination and bard? Is putting points in stealth that important? What do I max out first, Rogue tree or dual weapons tree?|||for a dual wield rogue you want strength and dexterity as your 2 main stats, the dual weapon talent tree should be your main focus when leveling especially try to get dual weapon master(that allows you to wield 2 swords at once allowing more damage) and for specs I would Assassination an Duelist seeing as they are the ones that benefit your build, stealth isnt important at all really

@Jimmy, you just mainly described a bow and arrow rogue with the cunning, dual rogues need strength for their attacks|||Alright I haven't played this game in a while but if I recall correctly, you should only use dual daggers, nothing else. And I believe you only need to have like 20 strength or something so you can use the best armor, but you need to put everything else into cunning. For the spec, I don't really remember but I think you should go with Assassin and bard. Don't bother with duelist. Also, to get maximum dps, you need to always be attacking your enemies from behind. I remember raping everything in my path by backstabbing with dual daggers.

And it's possible you screw up your rogue if it's your first time playing, that happened to me. So you may want to experiment a bit and maybe start over if you don't like your rogue the way it is.

Sorry I can't give more detailed tips, I don't really remember that much

edit: I haven't played in a while but I played a dual daggers rogue and i'm pretty damn sure you need to invest in cunning (if you're a backstabbing rogue)

    it goes like this:

    about 20 in strength

    about 26 in dexterity

    everything else in cunning

    cunning = major dps

i'm 99% certain about this. at least this is for the ps3 version, if it's about another version maybe it's different? no clue

Dragon age origins help picking the right class and race?

well im thinking of creating a character either warrior or rogue i love the warrior armor but then i love rogue skill i don,t know anything to do like specialization skills i think i want sword and shield but 2 handed looks bad *** shame you cant do healing rezzing warrior but dont say mage love the look of arcane warrior but im not doin magi circle i dont like spider cave or magic place when that first spider came down full volume i nearly fell of my chair!|||HAHA I'm a mage and absolutely loving it, just check out all of the primal spells:

    http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Primal_S鈥?/a>

I'd probably choose a rogue over warrior cause they have stealth, can pick locks and other stuff warriors can't do plus they can fight just fine and you can dress them in warrior armor later during the game.|||if you already have trouble with that then maybe dragon age is not the right game for you

    6. Main quest is about 30 Hours

    7. Yes.

    8. Third Person and Aerial View (Interchangeable)

    10. Yes, most of the best gear comes from stores.|||1. don't know, don't live in australia, but you could download the game from torrent or rapid share, and if you like it, buy an original.

Dragon Age: Origins - Best Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior Ring Combo?

As anyone who has seen some of my recent questions may know, I've been exploring the best gear combinations for my character, and I've come to a point where I have almost everything planned out. However, there are three specific rings that I like, and I can't figure out which one to use.

    Blood Ring:

25% lower health cost to activate spells for a blood mage.

    Lifegiver:

+10 Constitution, +3/+6 health regeneration in combat

    +10 health regeneration while exploring

    +3 armor

(Not counting the healing effects received bonus, as I hear tell that that's glitched.)

    Key to the City:

    +2 to all attributes

    +4% spell resistance

(Also not counting the healing effects bonus)

Obviously this creates a bit of a dilemma, as I can only wear two rings and I can't figure out which combination would be most beneficial. Any suggestions?|||I guess it kind of depends on how you play. Personally when I play my blood mage I don't have blood mage active all the time I activate it at the beginning of a battle use the two good spells and then deactivate it and then take a health polstice so if you play like that then the blood ring isn't all that helpful but if you play with blood magic active most of the time then that ring might be a good choice. As for me though I go with lifegiver and key to the city since as a mage you need more constitution whether you're a blood mage or not and especially as an arcane warrior since I assume you're more in the middle of things and need to be able to take more damage and key to the city is just good for anyone..

    3. Extensive main quest and at LEAST 50 or so side quests

    4. most armors are in sets, there are about 2 dozen of them, MANY weapons in game.

    7. Yes, one of my top 10 favourtie games of all time, favourite RPG on any console.

    8. 3rd person

    9. About a dozen cities that are always there, about 15 with all add-ons, not sure with expansion, but cities are fairly big, dungeons are HUGE, 15 minutes from point a-b WITHOUT fighting monsters.

    10. Yes, 2-3 in each city, about 10 in one BIG city, although most of the best stuff can be bought from a merchant next to your always-accessible camp. As with most RPGs, best items are dropped from dead enemies|||1.don't know

    2.yes

    3.yes there are both.

Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage On Dragon Age Origins, Opinions greatly appreciated?

Ok So I have a Level 15 Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage (My 4th Playthrough, I've never been a mage though) and the only main quest I've done so far is The Circle Of Magi, I'm currently doing the orzammar main quest, My Mage's main spells are damage and necromancy spells (necromancy as in Death Cloud, Virulent Walking Bomb, Reanimate The Dead ect.)

    The equipment I'm using:

Bergen's Honor (Dragonbone Helmet, +2 Armor, +6 Damage, +25 Physical Resistance)

Wade's Superior Dragonbone Plate Gloves (+10% Fire Resistance, +1 Stamina/Mana regeneration in combat)

Evon The Great's Mail (Dragonbone Chest Piece, +2 Health Regen in combat, +6 armor, +10% chance to dodge attacks, +2 Stamina/Mana Regen in Combat, Chanc to Avoid Missile Attacks)

Wade's Superior Dragonbone Plateboots (Same Stats as Gloves, this armor gives a full set bonus)

Weapon: Faith's Edge (2h Axe, Silverite, +2 Willpower, +5% Critical damage, Enchanted with +5 Cold Damage, +10 Damage against Darkspawn)

Any tips how I can make my character better?|||A good think to do is put just about all of your points in magic and willpower. Combat magic uses your the points you have in magic to modify dmg in combat as well as what you can equip. Willpower obviously will give you a deeper mana pool to counteract the added fatigue from armor. I'd advise using a 1h sword and a shield. As for spells, go for spells like weapon enchantments, spell might, rock armor, and other sustained spells that give you defense/attack power in combat (spell might will add onto your magic to give you more dmg from your weapon).

The best use of blood magic is at the beginning of a fight, turn it on and try to gather all the enemies into a tight group, cast blood wound, turn it off and attack away. Blood wound stuns all enemies in the area PLUS does dmg over time while you're hackin' away. Wait for the cooldown, rinse and repeat.

AW/BM spec'd mages in DA:O are pretty much invincible if done right. You can find many videos on youtube of people soloing the entire game on nightmare using them. Oh, and if I missed anything you needed to know check out the sources.

    Mass Effect 2 Bonus Content?

I heard in order to get the Terminus armor and blood dragon armor, you have to preorder Mass Effect and buy a new copy of Dragon Age? Well I didn't preorder it, so does that mean I can never get the content? Will they release it in the marketplace? Or can I get it if I buy a new copy of Mass Effect? Because that would be really stupid if people could never get it just because they didn't preorder.|||You will be able to get it in the marketplace, It might take a few weeks or months.

Dragon Age: Fort Drakon (Final Battle)?

I'm having a lot of trouble breaking in here.... I can't even get past the entrance. It's my first playthrough so I screwed up my characters' attributes and abilities and I turned down Morrigan's ritual so I lost all my aoe spells; I didn't train Wynne in any because I always had Morrigan in my group, and I have 3 other warriors in my group (probably a horrible setup but they were the only ones I felt I didn't screw up too badly) so I don't have a lot to work with here. My gear is okay, mostly tier 6 and 7 (dragonscale, legion armor, Yusaris) but I'm almost out of health and lyrium potions. Anyway, my group setup is Alistair, Shale, and Wynne.... any tips or bugs I could use to my advantage? The emissaries keep blowing my team up before I can take them down, I take such heavy damage that Wynne can't even keep up, and sometimes the little dragons don't even shatter when I Petrify-%26gt;Stonefist them and it's really irritating because not only does Wynne run out of mana 30 seconds into the fight, but she has less than 200 health and dies in about 2 hits (or some other team member gets Overwhelmed or fire-breathed on).

Frankly I'm not sure if I can take the archdemon. I was able to beat tough battles before after repeated tries (Flemeth and Cauthrien come to mind, the first few attempts I could barely shave off 10% from them) and I was able to take the High Dragon at the temple near Haven on the first try so I thought I was doing good and I didn't screw up my characters as bad as I thought but I guess I did.... and I'd really prefer not to accept Morrigan's ritual (doesn't fit in with the way I want to play my Warden) and fight all the way up to Fort Drakon AGAIN to potentially fail.

Am I out of options?|||WOW, sounds like you messed up with your group dynamics. it would help to know your group's stats and talents. I'm surprised that you relied on Morgan and decided not to cater to her u messed up when she joined your group then. My first play through i had a hard time because i made wynne a arcane warrior instead. however, i felt alistair and every other male in the game was weak compaired to the benefits and skills the women started off with. so i had me (i played a warrior/berserker/reaver lady), leliana (bard/ranger for extra summon for group), wynne (arcane warrior/spirit healer) , morgan (shapeshifter/arcane warrior) who used necromancing for extra member in group so i had a party of 6

Can anybody make potions/do you have enough to make potions? morgan did pots for me

Can anybody set traps/do you have enough material for traps? leliana did traps for me

it would help to get the armor from the forest when you had to kill remnants (once i got the set i didn't change armor for the rest of the game)

i would suggest using a "pull" technique where you send your strongest out to pull a few enemies and kill them (would work better if someone could make traps) leliana did this for me

or try splitting up except wynne have her attack with someone but ranged (if she has a staff)

Did you make leliana a hunter or whatever (sorry im sleepy n at work) she can summon a bear, wolf, or spider thats an extra member in your group.

how high is wynnes constitution (very important in this game)? just because she is a healer doesnt mean she doesnt need life. mana? wisdom?

keep trying i guess or have sex with morgan.

Few question about Dragon age: Awakening?

1: Does alistair get some type of armor if you didn't make him wear the ostagar ones?

2: Can you import your dead grey warden to awakening?

3: What get's imported to the game form the old one?|||1: No, Alistair Does not.(You were supposed to give him new armor as the game went on) He actually only even shows up if you made him king. In that situation, he has Kingish armor.

    2: No, He/She is dead.

3: Basically, your character And major choices. That's about it though.|||you need to have made alistar the king for him to be in awakenings, which i didn't do.actually i stopped before the ending, then imported my character.every thing in your inventory gets imported with you to awakenings, and depending on what level you are when you end origins you may automatically go up a level or two to start with.you can check out these sites for more help and info.hope this helps.good luck in dragon age.http://guides.gamepressure.com/ and http://www.gamefaqs.com/|||2

no dead wardens do not come back alive instead it defaults to orignal story line with a new warden from there hq duno the name off hand of the country

most of the choices you make in dao will be carried over you will hear some comments on stuff other than that i am not sure now that i think about it lmao

some of the choices you make and armor gold inventory items except for one dlc content items will not carry over

ask on bioware dao fourms|||1. Alistair only shows up in a cameo if you make him king. You don't get to choose his armor.

    2. Yes, but there is no explanation for why you are still alive. It's just waived away.

    2. Your entire inventory except DLC items. Also some decisions such as who is ruling Fereldan and Orzammar.

Thank you!|||You can kind of customize and it is an RPG where you level up and spend skill points. The is quite a lot of armor and weapons but you don't find much until later in the game. How can I pass this part in Dragon Age Origins? Any tips?

I just wrote a lot, and it took me a lot of time. I hope someone can really help me on this!

I'm on my way to kill Witherfang, and I'm in the werewolf layer. I've passed the dragon and I'm at the part where I talk to the little boy and he doesnt respond to anything I say. Then I get bombarded with undead creatures. I cant seem to be able to beat this part for some reason. Are there any good tactics that could be recommended? hey so ive been playing dragon age and i got to wade and i got 7 drake scales i used 6 to get tha 2 armours but i have 1 extra scale what do i do with this 1 extra drake scale? (its not the dragon scale i have that with me)|||There's not much of a point of the other drake scales after the two armors as Wade doesn't accept them for more armor, and there's no other person that can use them.

    Mass Effect 2 question.?

Ok so i bought mass effect 2. I went to my EA account and began downloading Blood Dragon Armor(I already had it in my account because I used it in Dragon Age). It finished downloading and I went into the game and into my captains quarters. I went to the armor locker and when I go to change my armor, Blood Dragon Armor isnt in there. Do I have to talk to someone? please help!|||You need to install the downloaded package. Once installed, you should be able to access the armor through Customize Armor.

  • A few questions about dragon age: origins?

So I've played endless hours of sacred 2 and really like the weapon/armor selection. Just wondering if DA:O has as big a selection of different weapons/armor. And how customizable the characters. I like to micro manage my chars... Stats + different armor and weapon combinations. Does armor change character appearances?|||There is a pretty good selection of armor and weapons, mostly consisting of common versions of them, but there are rare versions of armors and weapons that have different effects compared to the standard versions. All of the armors and weapons have varied appearances that have an effect on how your character looks, some of them just have different colors compared to other pieces, but other ones have quite a big effect; an example is comparing lightweight Leather armor to the massive Dragon Bone Plate armor.

The characters are quite customizable: skills, abilities, weapons, armors, accessories, even their tactics are all customizable by the player. The tactics change how a character might react to a given situation, for example you might make a tactic where a healing mage casts heal on any ally that falls below 25% health. This takes away from all of the micro-managing of your party, but if you so choose, you can also choose to micro-manage your party by removing all/most of the tactics.

Dragon Age, I don't know which helmet i should choose?

There are 2 helmets i can buy.

    Executioner helmet:

    Armor:3.13

    Fatigue:2.92%

    +25 Stamina

    OR

    Knight-Commander's Helm

    Armor:3.15

    Fatigue:3.75

    +5 Physical Resistance

Say which helmet is better and if you want say why. Prices don't matter since i have enough for both but the Executioner is cheaper by 1 gold.|||What's Dragon age?|||Knight commander's helm since of the physical resistance, if you're putting it on you're full tanker, stamina isn't as important as physical res|||Well, if you have the add-on, get the + 2 stats helm. I forgot what it is, in the stone prisoner add-on.

In this case, Executioner is much more better, if you are daamger, you don't need big physical resistance, in the other hand, damager and tanker need stamina to use their abilities.

My warrior has 350 stamina, im still need more of it to balance my damage with my str.

Based on my preferred, I like stamina more than resistance.

    Dragon Age Origins Questions?

I'm a potential buyer of Dragon Age Origins, but I was first wondering about these questions about the game.

    1. I want to be a mage. How much armor and weaponry does the mage have? I really can't find any on the internet, but I found tons of armor the warriors can use.

    2. So I heard you can have two specializations. If I buy the game, I want to be based on offense. (And have another mage heal). If I be an arcane warrior and a shapeshifter, does that mean that I shapeshift AND still cast the awesome spells of the arcane warrior?

    3. What is the best build for a mage if the Arcane Warrior/Shapeshifter really isn't so great?

    4. Can you despecialize in something? For example, if I get tired of being a arcane warrior/shapeshifter, can I learn another "profession" instead? Like switch to a Blood Mage?

Thank you.|||1] The Weapons/Armory System works off your strength for example having high enough strength will allow you to wear tier 4 armor and anything below. [goes up to tier 7]

Mages armor is based of magic, the higher the better mage cloth you can wear not much selection about 10 different pieces in the game for each category if not less. Mages use a staff unless your an arcane warrior where you can equip a sword[the arcane technique will revert any need of strength to magic. so you will never need to higher your strength as a mage. You can always equip a sword or w/e but without a certain ability you will require higher strength to equip better weapons, staffs are based off magic level.

2] A shape sifter allows you to transform in one of 3 creatures adapting to certain creature abilities you will not be able to use your reg. spells while in a form of a spider only spider skills and so on.

Arcane warrior gets to equip heavy armor and powerful weapons at a price of higher cost for use of magic. But you will be able to cast spells, for the best combo people often use Arcane Warrior/Blood mage seek guides for proper leveling as you go through the game the arcane warrior requires good preparation from the beginning of the game in order to fully utilize. like i said once your in a shape shifting form you may not use your regular spells, it's a great stat boost with new abilities in the form of a creature.

3]Arcane Warrior/ Blood Mage since you will have the ability to use the enemies blood instead of will power[mana] but /healer isint so bad either, if you want to mainly swing a sword and sometimes cast a spell arcane warrior is for you but most of your will power will be used for power and acc. up spells[boosts] having the blood mage backup will allow for plenty of enemy health for use of spells.

4] You cannot reset ability points once used so if you have it set to arcane war. you will have his abilities open for you to learn etc. You get one ability point at level 7 and 14 for specializations you can then choose one of 4 so you can play a blood mage until you decide to play something else btw you need to unlock these abilities to learn them so depending on the route/story you take you can get blood mage early in the game, closer to the ending or not at all.

Tip. You really need to get the feel of the game to answer specialization questions.

Arcane warrior can't be properly utilized at the beginning or even middle of the game with the stats it requires; Dexterity, Magic, Will Power and Constitution if you have a blood mage to add you will need more Constitution and less will power but again you need to see for yourself.

I play the game on a few Characters with different roles the mage requires the most attention because if you don't higher your states properly you may have to wait till later in the game to utilize a specialization for example a mage I leveled with high Magic and will power but low dexterity will be a bad Arcane warrior since he will miss everything almost all the time and i will have to wait another 5 or 6 levels to up his dex till he can properly hit. There are guides online the help a lot, some guide you through proper leveling for a certain specialization.

Gamefaqs.com search dragon age and click on faqs there are good guides there.

I tried not very good at explaining but have fun.|||1. Anyone can wear any armor. It's all based on amount strength.

    2. No, once you have shape-shifted you use that shapes skills

    3. This is all the fun of the game choose a few you like and test them.

    4. I don't think so. But maybe?|||1. you can wear almost anything if you're meet the requirements for that specific armor/weapon

but heavy armor usually requires 30++ strength. if you an arcane warrior, however you can wear

anything, 'cause instead of strength you'll need 30++ magic. there are a few items only for rogues, templars, etc, but not much.

    2. no, while shapeshifted you cannot

    3. i like arcane warrior / healer : then you don't need an additional mage (wyne) in the group.

btw, did you consider playing blood mage?

    4. no

and the mage - origin is great, i began with it, then did all the others, too. it's an awesome game, couldn't stop till finished it also with rouge an warrior 2.

    Dragon Age II Questions?

I'm going to buy Dragon Age 2 when its out but I've got two major questions that I'm hoping someone will be able to answer.

    1) I plan on playing as a mage like the one in the cut scenes and cover art and I wanna know about that epic looking armor, and that mage stave. I wanna know if those three darkspawn inspired, class specific armors and weapons for mages, warriors, and rangers, will actually be available in the game because I HATE IT when games have cut scenes and cover arts of thing you'll never actually acquire in the game. its F*CKING IRRITATING!

    2) Since playing the demo as a mage, I noted that basic attacks at close range become melee attacks with your staff or stave. Does the damage of those melee attacks hinge on your character's strength stats, or on your magic stats?

Ty, I hope we all enjoy this game :)|||I think a similar look will be available. It won't be exactly the same though since the people who made the cinematic trailer always take some license.

Your second question isn't something I had thought of. I would assume that it is still a magical attack. They just used melee animations because shooting at something over and over that is right in front of you like in Origins looked awkward.|||the first Dragon Age was a poor copy of past rpg games. Go play a real rpg, not this dumbed down one made for console retards.

  • Dragon Age II: Can you help me decide what class to be?

Warrior is cliche. But I enjoy being a warrior. And I noticed in Dragon Age II, most of the collectible weapons are "Sword and shield" or "Greatsword". When I think of warrior, I think of Link from Legend of Zelda, or Anakin from Star Wars. I played as a warrior my first playthrough in Dragon Age Origin. Warriors are kind of slow, but I should be patient..

Rogue. I am naturally a rogue, whether I like it or not. Being a rogue is what I'm best at, in all video games. In Dragon Age II, I am playing a rogue right now, and in chapter 2. But I'm thinking of replaying as something else. Rogue is easy. But I still love the class. I love how fast and speedy I can take someone out with my twin blades. If there is one thing I love about being a rogue, it's being extremely fast.

Mage. In any RPG game, I've never played as a mage. Mostly because of appearance. I don't want to be a wizard wearing a pointy hat. I like to wear light armor. But in one fight, I played as Merril, and I found it kind of fun.

So..It's either twin blades, sword and shield, or a staff.|||I loved being a mage b/c you could use the force spell tree which was great for crowd control. I played three mages and isabella and it was great. isabella can drop the hammer.

now i have found a new and better crowd control: its called assassin + haste. Its insane how quickly i absolutely mow through huge masses of bad guys. i am playing varric/merril/anders and i am the assasin. actually easier than three mages + rogue, which wasnt the case with origins.

you could do what i did (this game is for patient people, after all ; )) start a few different combos, play them all, until you find what you like. My next experiment will be 3 mages with elemental weapons and kick a$# staves + a tank (aveline) and just hammer them from afar with surprisingly powerful staves (i found much better than in origins). the toughest quest, the high dragon, i basically used staves only to avoid drawing too much threat and they worked pretty darn well.

in other words, its hard to go wrong. i just wouldnt get hung up on the cross-class combos b/c i found it more frustrating than anything else...timing was often an issue.|||If you're finding the game to be too easy, try turning the difficulty up and see how that affects your gameplay.

If you're not tanking as a warrior, then being a damage dealing warrior is quite different from being a stabby rogue.

Stabby rogues are capable of shocking amounts of damage to single targets. Warriors, generally, do not come close to the crippling power of sustained attacks by a rogue. But, they DO excel at wider range destruction, and burst damaging. With the proper talents, your attack power and attack range increase, which magnifies the crowd based strengths of a dps warrior.

It takes a while to get the most out of a DPS warrior. And on higher difficulty levels, can still do a decent job of going toe-to-toe against stronger enemies. I went on as a Reaver, and if I was low on health and popped all my damage buffing cooldown abilities, I could absolutely devastate an entire crowd of enemies with just 1 mighty blow. As with any other class, learn to use cross class combos.

It is possible to build a dps warrior out of a sword and shield, but it's an impractical approach in terms of raw damage dealing, and their moves are more suited towards utility than mass murdering.

As for rogues, well you already have one so there's not much to touch upon.

Mages, much like the first game, are still top dawg in terms of dealing damage. But have very important roles. You should always have at least one mage around to heal the party. Anders is very well suited for this, but as a Spirit Healer mage, you can take that role yourself.

If you choose against being a healer, then you'll most likely end up having to use both yourself and Anders. Having 2 mages isn't so bad because of all the damage you can dish out, but 2 mages can die very fast especially on higher difficulties. Your other 2 party members would most definitely need to balance that out.

In the end, I'm not sure what I could say. Each class is great to play, and they can be played different ways to an extent. Pick which one you'd find the most fun.

Dragon Age Origins:Ultimate Edition for xbox 360?!?!?!?!?!?

Can anyone give me a specific list of everything that comes with this package, is it all the DLC? Do I get like any Mass Effect 2 armor? Do I get every single thing there is to buy for Dragon Age:Origins?

P.S. I'm asking cuz I just ordered it from amazon for my xbox 360! =D|||Dragon Age: Origins is a fantastic game. Deep characterization and playing fundamentals/strategy (on higher difficulty levels), lots of looting and blood and gore, romance with a pretty guy or girl, long-term support from Bioware (hopefully) as evidenced by the downloadable content available on the day of release, and huge "bang for your buck."

    Dragon Age 2 companions?

Ok I completed the game but during the entire game I never had any hint of an Isabela or a Fenris except finding companion armour upgrades I have started again as a warrior (was a rogue first) and I am saving money for the expedition into the Deep Roads.

Where and when do I find Fenris and Isabela? I went through the game with just Hawke, Anders, Varric, Merril and Aveline (Bethany was taken by Templars after the Deep Roads).

I really need to know.|||ok to find fenris you need to do the bait and switch quest in the first act (before you go in the deeproads) and to get isabela you need to go to the hanged man right after you recruit the greywarden mage...(i cant remember his anme for some reason)

isabela is a little tricky to get her you need to do the quests to help her but on the last one tell her to forget about the relic otherwise you cant get her until the end of act 2 where you fight the arishok to save her life|||Fenris is only available in act 1. You should have gotten a letter on the desk in Gamlen's house beginning a quest called "bait and switch". This is where you meet and recruit him.

Isabela is tricky. She actually does not show up until after you recruit Anders. Once you have him you can go to the Hanged Man and start her recruitment quest.|||Check out this page for info on Fenris:

Dragon Age 2 What Chapter am I on?(spoilers)?

Ok, so I'm not entirely sure what chapter I'm currently on in this game. I'm at the part where I have to fight the Arishok after Isabella turns up with that Book she stole to stop herself from being killed. Anyway I just want to know what chapter I'm on, as well as how close to the end of the game I am. Knowing what chapter I'm on well help me know whether I can get certain items in the chapter I'm currently on, as well as possible items I've missed.|||You are just at the end of Act 2, as the Arishok battle marks the end of the second act, before another few years passes through Varric's storytelling.

Act 3 passes quickly as there is only 3 main story missions, though there is a variety of side missions, and companion quests to complete as well. These can help finalize their own stories for now, and may end up granting those characters bonuses as well.|||Act 2.

    ie. attributes, abilities, weapons,armour etc

Never played as a mage before so im kinda stuck on figuring out a good build for one

Thanks|||I have a few good mage builds that work nicely.

    1. "Cleric"

Role: Healing and supporting the party. This mage will obviously be your healer and should add a variety of crowd control and support skills.

Focus: Creation, Arcane and Entropy trees

    Build:

Level 2: Creation: Heal 鈥?The staple of the healer class, of course. Actually, probably a good first skill for every mage to get. It鈥檚 upgrade increases its potency, so consider getting that when you feel its necessary.

Level 3: Creation: Heroic Aura 鈥?This sustained mode adds attack and defense to all party members in range. Bring your mage in close (but not too close) to make sure your allies can take advantage of this.

Level 4: Creation: Glyph of Paralysis 鈥?This lay-down spell will create a trap for your enemies to fall into. It can paralyze up to two enemies and lasts four seconds. Great for opening a battle, great for the middle of a battle.

Level 5: Arcane: Mind Blast 鈥?Like Origins, Mind Blast will reduce threat around your mage. Unlike Origins, this doesn鈥檛 stun (well, it does with an upgrade), but still knocks people back. It鈥檚 a stepping stone to a later skill.

Level 6: Arcane: Barrier 鈥?This will give a character a 50 percent boost in damage protection. Should work great for helping your tank character make it out of those tough battles.

Later: Maxing out the Creation tree probably isn鈥檛 a bad idea. In the Arcane tree you can pick up Crushing Prison or you may want to start dabbling into Entropy for some hexes and disables or move into one of the damage tree to pick up a couple of those spells.

    2. "Sorcerer"

Role: Damage. You鈥檒l be dropping spells all over the battlefield to destroy your enemies. Direct or area damage is your game.

Focus: Elemental, Primal and Spirit trees

    Build:

Level 2: Elemental: Winter鈥檚 Grasp 鈥?A single-target spell, Winter鈥檚 Grasp can slow enemy attack and movement speed.

Level 3: Elemental: Fireball 鈥?An area-of-effect spell, Fireball does damage as well as can knock enemies out of the fight for a moment.

Level 4: Elemental: Cone of Cold 鈥?It doesn鈥檛 do as much damage as Winter鈥檚 Grasp, but it will hit an area of enemies and slows them even further. While it鈥檚 not as fantastic as it was in Origins, its upgrade can allow you to freeze and Brittle enemies.

Level 5: Elemental: Firestorm 鈥?The next fire spell in the line, Firestorm is essentially a new inferno spell. It will drop heavy area-of-effect damage.

Level 6: Creation: Heal 鈥?Yeah, heal is pretty much a good idea for every class. You may want to mix this in there a bit earlier in between damage spells, but let that be based on your taste and the availability of other mages in your party.

Later: While this build focuses on the Elemental tree, you can go with the Primal or Spirit trees, picking up the attack skills you like. Basically one major goal playing as a damage mage should be to pick up the handy mastery skill in whatever tree you specialize in.

    |||Hi there, even though Mr X is mostly true, if you take the Spirit Healer specialization you will spend most of your time with healing aura on, and you can't cast damage dealing spells while on this mode, neither some crowd control from the Entropy tree.

Right now i'm on my second play through, picked a warrior on my first time and used Anders as my healer and Merrill as the CC/damage dealer mage which turned out pretty good, but that's just me and my preference for mages :P

This time i picked a mage, and decided to be the healer, because i definitely want Merrill with me again :P(romance her ^.^) and im going for Creation/Arcane trees with Spirit Healer Specialization, more of a buff/heal/support type mage, wont be using the glyphs which i loved in DA:O but for some reason i just don't like 'em that much this time, and ill let Merrill handle the damage dealing with entropy as well, loved those CC/debuff spells.

As of attributes, go for magic/willpower dropping some points on constitution might be well worth it, after all if you are playing a healer mage you dont want him to get killed by a rogue in 2-3 seconds %26gt;.%26lt;|||Haven't played the second one yet, as I only bought it yesterday. However, from playing the original, you want to focus on building up your willpower and magic when it comes to attributes.

What did you like and hate about Dragon age 2?

For me I didn't like being confined to a single city, lack of areas to go to and admire and having to see the same faces of people who didn't like taking no as a answer every now and then. I'd like playing as an agressive Hawke but Hawke wasn't aggressive enough, no one was really intimidated by a warhammer wielding tattooed barbarian. How the armour rating would decay overtime, I'd pick an armour that looked sweet but offered bad protection later on.

Carver...enough said really. Hawke's voice didn't suit a sarcastic Hawke, need a less mature voice for that.

What I liked was the evolution of the main player by having a voice and personality, I did like how they wanted to make it a personal story but until end of chapter 2 it felt no longer personal.|||What i like about Dragon Age 2 is the new combat system, you control your character a lot more. Also the levelling up system. What i don't like is how the two games don't tie into each other. But at least the main character had a voice. I think they might find a way to tie the series together, in a new game against a new threat.|||Loved the improved combat, the companion interaction, having a voiced character, and the art direction. Unlike most people I didn't really care about being stuck in Kirkwall, environments are low on my priorities when I play a game. I get why it was a problem though.

I hated the time skips, three years was too long and almost nothing happened. I also didn't like how Hawke's choices didn't matter much. Most of all I hated the cliffhanger ending, I thought that was a cheap move. I really hope they give us a full expansion to finish Hawke's story and don't make us wait for DA3.

    Dragon Age Origins Help!?

This isn't about the actual game, but anyway:

I didn't receive a code for the Blood Dragon Armour with my copy of DA:O. I have a code for the Stone Golem thing, the Mass Effect 2 Blood Dragon armour, but not the DA:O armour.

But is the Mass Effect 2 code the same one to use for DA:O? If it is, i cant find a way to enter it properly.

Anyone else have this strange, more-complicated-than-it-needs-to-be problem?|||The code gives you the armor for both games. It says right on the card that when you download it in Dragon Age: Origins, that you also get it in Mass Effect 2.

    Dragon Age 2-Deep Roads Expedition?

So I recently bought DA2 around 3 days ago, I didn't purchase Origins so was slightly worrried it woudln't make any sense. The combat was quite hard to grasp at first, but now iv'e picked it up it's all good. However I just currently started the deep roads expedition and i'm at the part where the elvish man is asking for a man to be killed for taking his daughter into the cave/tombs. So I face 3 lots of enimies, i have 2 mages and a rouge with me, no problem. Then i get to the final part, spiders are respawning constantly and some higher levelled character attacks as well.

Iv'e tried this several times now, but always fail. I try new tactics everytime, and have even lowerered the diffifculty to casual just to try get past this. But all fails.

Am i using my character and its abbillties to potentional? I am on level 10, have not really checked out new armour or anything in the shops, just done the main quests and side quests.

Any help would be appreciated, love the game, don't want to put it down.

ps. this is my first rpg styled game like this.|||You can't be on those two quests at the same time. You must still be earning the coin you need to join the expedition. Once you leave for the deep roads expedition, that completely cuts you off from all the other quests in Act 1.

The quest you are having trouble with is a fight that will repeat often in the game, as far as monsters and strategy is concerned.

If you are a mage, then you should have access to Aveline, Carver, and possibly Fenris by now. Drop Merrill from the team - she doesn't get scary powerful until later levels. Put Fenris, Aveline, or Carver in her place - whichever of them you have given talents to taunt enemies and withstand or dish out melee damage.

You need AoE - area of effect spells/abilities, and a proper 'tank' - a melee character whose job it is to focus enemy aggression on them and away from the characters with weaker defenses, like mages.

I will assume that your Hawke and Anders are both equipped with AoE talents. Different ones, hopefully. Firestorm and Tempest are a good choice. If you have Varric or Sebastian, and they have Hail of Arrows, this is also a good AoE. Drop one or two AoE into the bulk of the enemies, and send the rogue and melee characters to mop up the survivors. If someone tries to engage a mage, have the mage use Mind Blast, or Cone of Cold to discourage it, or if you are a Force mage use a spell to throw them back.

If that doesn't work, send your tank to deal with whatever is trying to eat the mages, while the rogue keeps killing things.

If an enemy caster appears, kill it first, with extreme prejudice. If you have a mage with Crushing Prison, drop that on enemy spell casters, Revenanths and similar baddies to tie them up and hurt them while a melee rogue or fighter can pound on them.

Go for combos - enemies stunned by a warrior are easy pickings for a rogue or AoE mage spells. Enemies paralyzed or brittle from mage spells are easy prey for warriors.

And yes - make sure you change our your party weapons and accessories to the best you have on hand. You shouldn't have to spend anything at this point, but anything is better than your starting weapons.|||If you haven't done all side quest id do other ones gain more experience first, then come back to that part or just put it on easy.|||what are you and name your available allies

Dragon Age 2 - damage points question?

Hi. If i have a fire staff which does say 42 fire damage. And then i also have a helmet which adds 16% fire damage, and 2 rings which add 4% fire damage each - how much fire damage will be total? Will it be (16% + 4% + 4% = 24%)? 24% of 42 is roughly 10, so add 10 to 42 (because its plus 24% of 42) so 52 damage in total. Is that how this works generally? (lets just disregard enemy resistance and armour for now) This is just an example.

See i have in actuality a fire staff of 42 fire damage, +8 fire damage + 16% fire damage, plus a whole load of extra percentage fire damages from the abilities, from rings, armour and pendant, and im trying to work out what the overall damage will equal to, generally each hit is causing the enemy around 140-200 fire damage but i dont know how its getting to this much....can someone help with the calculations lol...|||one of the passives in the elemental tree gives you 25% i believe, so that plus 24% is almost 50. you have to remember that your magic also affects damage, so think about it that way. Adding a lot of points into magic will probably get you that high damage.

  • Another Dragon Age 2 question.. ?!?

ok so im now a level 15 rogue and i have just found out that as you level up your weapons/armour decrease in stars and i had all 5 star items which are now 2-3 stars..

i have some good armour which are 4-5 stars, does anybody know where i can get a bow thats 4-5 stars because the bow im using is 2 stars.

Thankyou.|||level 15. that means you are probably in act 2. If you used the exp/money glitch, you wont find better bows if you're in act one. in act two i'm pretty sure the dalish sell a decent bow, and many of the merchants around kirkwall. generally unlocking chests you will find good items for your level so try unlocking as many as you can. in act 3 (after the qunari leave), there are a few really good bows. The jackals longbow is found on the high dragon corpse (quite the difficult battle, bring plenty of potions), Absolution is found in the "recently opened passage" beside the dalish camp sold by a golem in the cave. Those two are longbows. if you prefer shortbows, there's truebow which i believe is in the dalish camp and some composite bow, i think that's in lowtown or the gallows but those are the best bows i've come across.

Dragon Age Origins PS3 DLC - Stone Prisoner?

Hey, when I bought the game it came with 2 codes (blood dragon armour and stone prisoner) Ive downloaded the armour but every time I put in the stone prisoner code it keeps saying its invalid? Ive checked the code is right loads of times and I put hypens in. WHY DOESNT IT WORK?|||hmm only thing i can think of is thats it expired already that game came out i november of last year its not march with nad expansion of dragon age due out in 2 weeks..so they might have cancelled that code..i honestly cant think of another reason why its not working./...try caps and lowercase because there not much else you can do except buy it for the psn...|||check the expiry date thats the only thing i can think of

In dragon age 2 can you get the daggers from the tutorial at the beginning later in the game (as the rogue)?

because i have played it through a couple of time and found all the champion armour but i have not seen the daggers from the bit at the beginning and if you can where are they|||Apparently you can't get the daggers that you have at the start of the game, although you can get 2 which look pretty close.

The first one is Finesse (http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Finesse) which you can get from doing the quest "A Murder of Crows" in Act 2 - http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/A_Murder鈥?/a>

The second one is Superior Dalish dagger, which is sold by Master Ilen, at Sundermount ain Act 1.

Few questions about Dragon Age 2?

So DA2 is releasing in Europe on Friday, and I would like to ask a few questions to our North American cousins who got it on the 8th.

    1. What exactly do you get within the Signature edtion in terms of DLC?

    2. I know you can't change companions armour. But can you equip weapons etc to them?

Any other general comments about the game would be appreciated.

Thank You!|||1. Sabastien Vael(sp?) a new character with a new mission for him.

2.You can equip weapons, amulates, rings, etc. You can also upgrade their armor.

I would recommend starting on hard if you want to play tactically.

    Dragon age origins help?

i have a warrior and am level 11, how high should i put my constistution, dexerity, and strength? any other tips for being pretty much untouchable? haha im a dwarf warrior and juaggernaut and dragon blood armor and starfang, what is the best sheild and whats better also dual weild. 2 hand or sheild and sword? thanks|||As a warrior there's 2 main things you can go into:

You can be the tank of the group (sword and shield), in which case bring up strength and constitution equally, but focus on constitution for health (bring cunning up to 16 for persuasion, it's important). In this role, your job is to keep all of the enemies attacking you while your group destroys the enemies.

Alternatively be a dps in the group (either two handed or dual blades depending on which you prefer, the two handed hits harder but much slower, the dual blades do less damage but attack extremely quickly; they both even out to about the same overall damage), and bring up strength and constitution equally, with cunning also at 16. In this role, your job is to attack the ever-living s*** out of whatever's attacking your tank (Alistair or the Mabari are the tanks, imo the dog's better)

As for which weapons/shields are the best, they'll increase in quality as you level up, so equip the items based whatever the highest tier you have available and what the stats are.|||If you wanna be untouchable, don't play the game, problem solved!

i like the look of the character in da2 and apparently the graphics are better but every one says that origins is better

    well which is better

i like having a large team With a place to call home such as a castle or somewhere to go when not doing quests

lots of cool armour upgrades and weapon upgrades

    a long and enjoyable storyline

the ability to bond to your characters such as have personality's and romance options

i like lots of side missions

and huge places to explore and i don't really mind having no plot as long as their is a story line in the quests

    good sound and graphics

please tell me which dragon age game is better for my liking

thanks in advance|||Dragon Age Origins has a more solid gameplay and better story.

Dragon Age 2 has more things to do.

All in all Dragon Age Origins is better.

How does the resistance system work in Dragon Age 2 work ?

So I upgraded Arcane shield 3 times. It gives 20 defence 20 all resistance to all party members.

Then I enchanted fire rune to Fenris's armor and it got 1700 fire resistance.

So is 20 any helpful figure when there is 1700 ? Does 1700 mean I will get 0 damage when enemies use fire on me ?

And how do I know which enemy has what resistance ? Do I just have to shoot and guess ?|||1700 fire resistance means fire damage will be reduced by 1700 for your party. When attacking enemies you pretty much do have to shoot to find their resistances

How to romance Fenris&Anders in Dragon age 2?

I've given him his gift and we are friends.(I get the friend buff)

I believe I have flirted with him every change I got. Also I have completed his side quest.

The same goes for anders except his friendship is almost max(even a bit higher then fenris)

I can't get either of them to "bunnybump" me though :(

I have already gotten isabella and then merril..but I can't get these two for some reason--even though we are friends.

    Any ideas?

You don't need all their armor do you?|||I was able to 'get with' both Anders and Fenris in act two.

Make sure that you are flirting every chance you get, and keep remembering to visit them now and then and also visit your home at night to see if they show up.

Keep checking your journal to see if there are side quests for each of them you might not be seeing. As long as you're doing their quests and flirting with them, you shouldn't even need to give them gifts to make them want to do the beast with two backs. ;]

Hope that helps!|||I think it might be that I didn't have his friendship(or hate) high enough during the scene after his quest to trigger his"love" later at the estate.

I need help with dragon age 2?

I played through it first time as a warrior, one handed. Did not have good armor, i suppose a decent weapon. Anyways, that is not really why i am asking for help. I need help with my second play through, i rushed through it first as a warrior as i said and on easy mode. I did not recruit isabella. And i did not do side quests or companion quests. I am however going to do that in my second play through, but i need some advice. I am starting out as a male rouge (i will be using knives/swords.) Duel weapons. I need to know what skills and what class my hawke should learn/be and what teamates i should have around him and what skills they should major in. (This is the xbox 360 version.) And also how many hours should it take me if i do all of the quests availible?|||The good thing about these Role Playing Games is you can play them however you like.

You dont need rules, but if you really need some advice, I say build your party in appropriate to the mission.

How would you customize your Hawke? what skills should you major in? again, it depends on how you want to play the game,\.

Note: as a rule, I always make sure i have a healer with me, so I always take anders. and varric is not bad either.

How log will it take to do all the quests?

    depends on the difficulty.

I finished easy in 7 hours

It took me 9 hours on medium difficulty

Dragon Age 2 gets slow when using the spell arcane shield ?

How do I get rid of arcane shield's effect and still use it ?

I mean like the helmet. You still are wearing it and having +armor but you don't see the helmet.

Is something like that possible ? I made arcane shield work on every one of my companion, thought was cool but the effect is making the game way too slow. I already made the graphics low.

Or are there even some place to unlearn skill so I can rather learn something else and forget arcane shield ?

Those swirly wind effect on every single on of my companion makes my pc slow.|||Sadly, there isn't a way to hide the Arcane Shield effect. If your playing the PC version you should play in windowed mode (in the options). Most average computers can't even handle Dragon Age II with full screen mode.

Dragon age 2 rune of valiance question ?

    My Hawke has

1 rune slot for glove (+7 to all attributes)

1 rune slot for boots (+4 to all attributes / maybe because this boot quality sucks)

    2 rune slots for armor (+7 / +7 all attributes) = 14 all attributes.

but it doesn't add 25 all attributes to my Hawke.

Wiki says The effect from multiple runes on different armor pieces is not cumulative.

So it only works on 1 armor ? like only a glove only boots or only armor ?

and when I do armor, still only 1 piece applys not 2 for 14 attributes ?

The last part of the wiki says ...

Appropriately, this rune can offer astonishing power -- on the best armor, it can provide +7 or more points to every attribute, the equivalent of 14 level ups or more.

equivalent of 14 level ups or more ? That should mean 14x3 = 42 all attributes. My armor is Robes of the champion but still it only adds 7 for one.

The patch version is 1.02. Or is it like changed the settings ? I still don't think patch 1.00 would add 42 all attributes cause valiance it self says it's only 7. It's not even like 7 abilities.|||Multiples of that rune doesn't stack on a single person. Is this any good ? I mean 3% ? Does it even have a change ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7% physical damage

So does this mean it increases the sword damage by 7% or the characters every psysical damage ?

If there was a sword damage 20 with +7% physical damage and a sword damage 27 which is better ? Al though 7% won't be just +7 damage of a sword.

    +10 armor

If there is a shield with armor 20 with +10 armor and another shield with armor 30 are these shields

This was from a bow. I think 2m is pretty short. So if I shoot one, the other guy at the back will only get 7 nature damage on them ? But I'd have to use archers' lance so I can penetrate them right ?

or does it just deal +7 even if I just use normal attacks ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +59 attack

It's not +59 damage, it's just attack rating right ? Are these really important ? Everybody says

only rogue needs dexterity for damage and warrior needs strength. But if warrior really only puts attributes on strength and none on dex, how could they ever hit the enemies ? I think these +attacks

are useless unless you're a rogue. I never seen warriors missing their hits on enemies.

Do rogues gain even damage and not just attack rating if they have this ?

I've also seen mage items with +attacks. Doesn't mages have 100% attack rating, since it's a magic ? (Maybe I played diablo too much? lol)

Are these + attacks mean not just attack rating as in failing of attack and dealing 0 damage on enemies but attack rating as kind of dealing decreased damage ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    -6 threat generation

Is this useful ? I got a mage boots. I think this will make enemies less want to attack me but -6...is 6 a useful number ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +4 fortitude

THe more fortitude is higher, I won't get critical damage, stunned or blowed away ?

Is +4 any useful ? sounds like +0.00001 fortitude. very useless. lol|||Health Regeneration %26amp; Mana/Stamina Regeneration

The thing about heath regeneration and mana/stamina regeneration is that your character already has a stat regarding how much you regenerate per. second. So if you choose 2+ health regeneration, that stat will rise with 2.

There are two different kinds of health regeneration and mana/stamina regeneration. There is one for when you're in combat, and there's one for when you're exploring. When in combat, you're health regeneration stat is at 0, but when you're exploring, it's on 10. Combat regeneration heals you every 2 seconds, so if you have 2 in health regeneration, you get 2+ in hit points pr. 2 seconds. When you're exploring, you're healed every third second. You can't have more than 20 health regeneration points all in all.

With stamina, you have a regeneration rate of 1 when in combat, and one of 17.5 when out of combat. I hope that helps.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +22% Healing to this character

This means that when using spells or poultices on the character wearing the amulet, the spell or poultice will be 22% more effective. A health poultice heals 60% of a characters health, but when wearing this amulet, that percentage is forced up to 82%.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +3% attack speed

As it is a percentage we're dealing with, this is obviously better when a character with an already high attack speed uses it. 3% can be a lot if the character is already swift, but used on a slow warrior or mage, it won't make a noticeable difference.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7% physical damage

Again, as with above, this is only useful with a character who already possesses a high physical damage. Physical damage simply means that it will only enforce attacks of non-elemental form, whereas 7% fire damage, would enforce a mage's fireball attacks and his fire elemental staff.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +10 armor

A shield with 20 in armor and 10+ armor, is as good as a 30 armor shield, yes.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +400 nature resistance

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be +400% nature resistance?

Assuming that this is correct, I'll continue. Yes, you're right about what nature resistance is. You're more resistant to any damage of nature type. This simply adds to your nature resistance which you can find in your character's profile, you know, where you also go to when you want to level up. So if you only have one nature resistance point, +400% nature resistance will only give you 4 more points. Each point approximately means that you'll take one less percentage of damage of that given form of attack, in this case, nature.

I'm pretty sure the 2% fire resistance amulet/armor/whatever was actually 2+ fire resistance.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7 nature damage across 2m

The description of this may be misleading, but this is actually pretty useful. It deals +7 nature damage to all enemies in a 2 meters radius of the target.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +59 attack

Attack determines your accuracy, so this is only important for warriors and rogues since, as you stated, mages NEVER miss an attack. So basically, this has nothing to do with damage, it's just whether or not you hit the enemy. And as a sidenote, you've probably leveled your warriors in a good way, if you've never seen them miss an attack. They must already have a decent attack stat then.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    -6 threat generation

The threat system is pretty complicated, so I'm going to leave you a link in the sources, for you to check up on it yourself.

    ----------------------------------

    +4 fortitude

The higher your fortitude, the less a chance to get stunned or knocked back, as you said. +4 isn't bad. It's the same as 400% assuming you have 1 fortitude point already. If you have plenty of fortitude points, +4 won't make that much of a difference, true.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    I hope this helped.
