RPG game single/online with extreme visual looking armors and gear, preferably customizable?

Hi folks, I'm looking for an PC RPG with good visual armors and weapons simply for the beauty of them. I'm tired of asian online games with heavy warriors using cloth armors with slight metal tint effects and the boring slight variations on assasin/thief leather being present in any game. I want to see a heavy warrior looking like a mass of shiny armor in good version and a mass of deadly spiked iron in evil mode, and the mage having a cool robe with inherent special effects, cause well.. hes all about elements, right?

I'd love to play a game with a truly powerful archer (have'nt played one since NeverWinter Nights),

or a game where game mechanics are as good as in Diablo II (Torchlight is a cutie, but fails at mechanics).

Yeah, I'm waiting for DIII but untill then, I'd like to explore the options.

Some rpg's I've played... random: Nox, Diablo, Diablo 2 LoD, NeverWinter Nights, Baldur's gate, Shadows of Amn, Planescape Torment, Runescape, Torchlight, The Witcher, Perfect World Online, WOW, Aion, Guild Wars, Conquer online, Silk Road, KotOR, Mass Effect 1+2, Dragon Age: O+2... and much more.

Also, note that endless items (Diablo-like) are preferred and Final Fantasy is a no-touching issue.
